The Mylor Ladies Choir requested a minute’s silence before the concert to remember the victims of the London bombs.

Mylor Ladies Choir, with their conductor Bridget Westlake, put on a concert of light, popular music in the Tremayne Hall. They all looked most elegant in evening dress. Their concert consisted of songs from the shows including ‘Kiss Me Kate’, ‘No No Nanette’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘Oliver’.

Tickets cost £3 and the sum of £150 was raised.

We are grateful to the choir for the many hours of practice leading up to their performance. They appreciated the piano, which had been tuned specially, and found the acoustics in the hall extremely good. We look forward to welcoming them for regular performances when the restoration is complete.
